Old Potrero California Cellar Series #02 is a collaborative rye whiskey from San Francisco's Old Potrero distillery, finished in Sonoma Portworks Petite Sirah port barrels for 17 months. Aged 7 years and 3 months and bottled at 56.8% ABV (113.6 proof), this 700ml expression is part of Old Potrero's ongoing California Cellar Series, which celebrates partnerships between the historic San Francisco distillery and renowned California winemakers.

The rye whiskey opens with aromas of deep caramel, rich vanilla, cooked fruit, and cacao. On the palate, expect sweet rye grain, spicy cinnamon, nutty complexity, and bright cherry wood, all drawn from the recycled port barrels. The finish delivers grape cola, grape leaf tanginess, and a warm spiced rye sensation. Portmaker Deneice Knotts of Sonoma Portworks notes that the barrels impart notes of cherry, dried fruit, and cinnamon spice from the ports they previously held.
