Pinhook Vertical Series is a straight bourbon whiskey crafted by Pinhook, distilled at MGP in Indiana and aged, blended, and bottled at Castle & Key Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky under the direction of Master Blender Sean Josephs. The mash bill consists of 75% corn, 20.5% rye, and 4.5% malted barley, aged nine years in American oak.
The 2024 release is blended from only 100 barrels, delivering a rich nose of seasoned cedar, cardamom, and preserved oranges. The palate opens with brown sugar, glazed almonds, and brandied cherries. Bottled non-chill filtered at 57.15% ABV (114.3 proof).
The Vertical Series follows a group of 1,350 MGP barrels as they mature from 4 to 12 years, offering whiskey enthusiasts a rare opportunity to taste the arc of aging across annual releases. The name "Pinhook" pays homage to Kentucky's horse-racing tradition, reflecting the patience and instinct required to develop exceptional barrels over time. Sold in cases of 12 x 750ml bottles.
