Only If You're Lucky

Only If You're Lucky is a psychological thriller novel by New York Times bestselling author Stacy Willingham, published by Minotaur Books (an imprint of Macmillan's St. Martin's Publishing Group). It is a trade paperback edition with 384 pages, released on January 21, 2025.

The story follows Margot, a shy and careful college student who is drawn into the orbit of Lucy Sharpe — magnetic, bold, and dangerous. When Lucy invites Margot to room with her and two other girls in an off-campus house during their sophomore year at a liberal arts college in South Carolina, Margot finally begins to emerge from the shell she's inhabited since the death of her best friend Eliza. But by midyear, a fraternity boy from the house next door has been brutally murdered, and Lucy has vanished without a trace.

A sharp and twisty exploration of female friendship, loyalty, envy, and betrayal, Only If You're Lucky is the third novel from Willingham, following A Flicker in the Dark and All the Dangerous Things, cementing her reputation as a leading voice in psychological suspense.
