Villota Selvanevada Blanco is a white Rioja DOCa wine from the historic Finca San Rafael estate in Laserna, Laguardia, within the Rioja Alavesa sub-zone of Spain. Produced by the Pérez-Villota family, who have cultivated this land since the 1930s, this wine is crafted from a blend of Viura (91%), Tempranillo Blanco (6%), and Garnacha Blanca (3%) sourced from dry-farmed, goblet-trained vines planted between 1930 and 1990 on calcareous clay soils.

The grapes are destemmed, sorted, and pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks with no malolactic fermentation. The Viura component is aged six months sur lie in 225L and 500L French oak barrels, while the Tempranillo Blanco and Garnacha Blanca remain in stainless steel. The result is a pale gold wine with an expressive nose of tropical fruit, pineapple, lemon, and floral notes layered with spice and vanilla. The palate is creamy and richly textured with minerality, dried apricots, and hazelnuts.

The 2024 vintage received 92 points from Jeb Dunnuck and 91 points from James Suckling. Pairs well with roasted chicken or pork, cured Spanish ham, herbaceous soups, and rice dishes like paella.
