Sierra Cantabria XF Rosé Rioja, Spain 750ML

Sierra Cantabria XF Rosé is a premium Rioja clarete produced in partnership between the Eguren family of Viñedos y Bodegas Sierra Cantabria and Xandra Falcó, Marquesa de Mirabel. This limited-edition rosé is crafted from a blend of 35% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Viura, 33% Garnacha, 6% Maturana, and 6% Tempranillo, sourced from estate-owned vineyards in San Vicente de la Sonsierra on the left bank of the Ebro River in Rioja, Spain.

The grapes are exclusively hand-harvested with rigorous double-manual sorting before and after destemming. The white varieties macerate for 48 hours in stainless steel, then are combined with the red varieties for 72 hours at low temperatures. Fermentation takes place with native yeasts under controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The vineyards are farmed using practicing organic and selective biodynamic methods on calcareous clay soils rich in limestone, with vines planted in 1980.

The result is a delicate, elegant wine with citrus and floral aromas, very round on the palate. Production is limited to approximately 15,000 bottles per vintage. The 2024 vintage received 92 points from James Suckling.
