Xuri Preserved Duck Eggs are a traditional Chinese delicacy with roots dating back to the Ming Dynasty. Each package contains 12 individually wrapped preserved duck eggs with a net weight of 29.63 oz (1.85 lbs). Made by Kaiping City Xuri Eggs Products Co., Ltd. in Guangdong, China, these century eggs are preserved through a traditional curing process using a mixture of clay, salt, quicklime, and rice straw ash over several weeks to months.
The eggs develop a distinctive appearance with a dark, translucent egg white and a creamy, grayish-green yolk. While they have an ammonia aroma when eaten alone, this becomes much less noticeable when served in traditional preparations. Century eggs are commonly enjoyed mixed into congee (savory rice porridge), served as appetizers with soy sauce, combined with chilled tofu, or incorporated into salads. The individual wrapping ensures freshness and makes portioning convenient.
