Barrell Bourbon Cask Strength Batch 038 is a limited-edition, multi-state blend of straight bourbon whiskeys crafted by Barrell Craft Spirits, an independent blender renowned for sourcing and blending exceptional cask strength releases. This special USA 250th Anniversary edition draws on bourbons from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Maryland, incorporating age components ranging from 8 to 15 years. The derived mash bill is 79% corn, 17% rye, and 4% malted barley. It is bottled at cask strength at 55.69% ABV (111.38 proof) and presented in a 750mL bottle.

The blend was constructed in stages, layering barrel groups selected for complementary flavor contributions: full-bodied barrels with black cherry character, oak-forward barrels with nutty depth, younger barrels with stone fruit and peppery spice, and older barrels showing milk chocolate, cinnamon, and pecan richness. The result is a fruit-driven, dessert-rich bourbon that is elegant and complex despite its cask strength.

Tasting notes include fresh apple, tart berries, lemon jelly, kiwi, mango, and black cherry on the nose and palate, evolving into confetti cake, honey wine, mint, carrot cake, cream cheese frosting, cinnamon buns, crème brûlée, candied lemon peel, and lightly grilled peach on the finish.
