Made with 100% certified organic grapes sourced primarily from old-vine Zinfandel plantings, this wine is blended with a touch of Petit Sirah to add greater perfume, color, and complexity. The wine opens with aromas of violets, raspberry, and strawberry, layered over vibrant stone fruit and a touch of black pepper. On the palate, flavors of briery fruit, brown spice, and vanilla are framed by subtle white pepper and oak, with a generous mid-palate of soft tannins and balanced acidity leading to a lingering, bold finish. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at warm temperatures for up to two weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation for added smoothness, then 12 months of aging in French oak barrels.
