Fresh Wild Ono, also known as Wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri), is a premium wild-caught fish fillet sourced from U.S. waters and sold by the pound. The Hawaiian word "ono" literally means "good to eat," a fitting name for this prized Pacific fish. Ono is a close relative of king mackerel and is celebrated among seafood lovers for its mild, subtly sweet flavor and firm, moist flesh that breaks into large, satisfying flakes when cooked.

This fillet is highly versatile in the kitchen and responds well to grilling, broiling, blackening, sautéing, and poaching. Because ono is a lean fish, it cooks best at medium-high heat and should not be overcooked—a light marinade before grilling helps retain moisture and enhances the delicate flavor. The firm texture also makes it an excellent choice for poke, fish tacos, and other preparations where the fish is the centerpiece. All U.S. wahoo is line-caught by trollers and longliners, making it a sustainably harvested choice.

Ono is an excellent source of lean protein, low in saturated fat and sodium.
