Basilica San Martino Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG by Villa Cafaggio is a premium Tuscan red wine with a first vintage dating back to 1985. This blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the San Martino vineyard in the Conca d'Oro area of Panzano in Chianti, situated at 365 meters above sea level on south-east facing slopes with silty-clay loam soil.

The grapes are manually harvested in early October and undergo alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for 18 months in twice- and thrice-used 225-litre French oak barriques from Sylvain and Taransaud cooperages with medium toast, where spontaneous malolactic fermentation takes place. It then rests for an additional 12 months in glass-lined cement vats followed by 6 months of bottle aging before release.

The vineyard is planted at a density of 7,200 vines per hectare using the Guyot training system. This wine has consistently earned scores in the 90-94 point range from major wine publications including Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast across multiple vintages. Sold in a 6-pack of 750ML bottles.
