Martinelli Winery's Giuseppe & Luisa Vineyard Zinfandel is a premium red wine from the Russian River Valley appellation in Sonoma County, California. The vineyard traces its roots to the 1880s, when Giuseppe and Luisa Martinelli planted three acres of Zinfandel on a steep hillside that is now known as Jackass Hill — still among the steepest non-terraced hillside vineyards in Sonoma County. Generations later, their grandson Lee Martinelli Sr. extended the legacy by grafting bud wood from the original centurion vines onto low-vigor rootstocks and planting them at roughly 2,000 vines per acre on a rocky knoll above the winery's tasting room.

The wine is aged in 40% new French oak and 60% neutral French oak for approximately 11 months, contributing structure and complexity without overwhelming the fruit. On the nose, it offers ripe black cherry, Santa Rosa plum, apricot, raspberry, and strawberry, with accents of black tea, blood orange, saline, and earth. The palate is vibrant and fruit-forward, with cherry tart and succulent plum flavors leading to a finish with delicate spice and hints of milk chocolate. The wine is sustainably produced and reflects the distinctive terroir of the Russian River Valley.
