Peake Ranch Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard estate wine from the Santa Rita Hills (SRH) appellation on California's Central Coast, sold in a case of 12 bottles at 750ml each. The wine is crafted under the direction of winemaker Wynne Sargeant and is recognized for its distinctively rich, Pommard-like character that sets it apart from lighter-styled Pinot Noirs.
On the nose, the wine offers aromas of red and black raspberries, flinty minerality, forest floor, and leather. The palate is medium to full-bodied with good concentration, firm tannins, and outstanding length. Rated 96 points by critic Jeb Dunnuck, this is a serious Pinot Noir with excellent aging potential expected to develop further over the next few years.
Sourced from the warmer eastern side of the Santa Rita Hills, the Peake Ranch Vineyard produces grapes with greater depth and structure than many of its neighboring vineyards in the appellation. This wine is an exceptional value for a highly-rated, single-estate California Pinot Noir.
