Jean-Claude Boisset Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru is a Burgundy red wine from the Côte de Beaune appellation in France, crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the historic Savigny-lès-Beaune village. The vineyards, located three kilometres north of Beaune, form a V-shape at the meeting of a valley and the plain — terrain with ancient lineage once belonging to the Dukes of Burgundy and the Knights of Malta.
The wine is made from grapes handpicked and double-sorted, then 100% destemmed and gravity-fed into tanks. Cold maceration at 12°C precedes fermentation with indigenous yeasts only, with no added enzymes or tannins. After approximately 21 days of maceration, the wine is aged for 16 months in 50% new French oak barrels toasted at low temperatures for a subtle, delicate oak influence, then bottled using gravity filtration.
The wine displays a deep ruby color with intense aromas of black cherries, raspberries, toasted notes, and black pepper. On the palate it is structured with fine tannins and a slightly woody finish. Ageing potential of 5 to 10 years. Sold in a case of 6 × 750ml bottles.
