Château Gantonnet is a classic Bordeaux Rouge from the Entre-deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, France, produced by the Richard family who have owned the estate since 1962. The château itself dates from the 19th century with origins tracing back to the Middle Ages, situated 20 km from Saint-Émilion near the Dordogne river.
This red blend is crafted from 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, aged for one year in stainless steel vats. It opens with ripe, fragrant aromas of plum and dark red fruits, with well-structured spice notes and hints of rich Christmas cake. On the palate it is juicy with firm tannins and a savory, classic Bordeaux character. Alcohol content is approximately 13–14.5% ABV. Contains sulfites.
Pairs well with beef, veal, poultry, game meats such as venison, light charcuterie, and grilled meats.
