Contesa Pecorino Abruzzo is a crisp, bone-dry Italian white wine crafted from the indigenous Pecorino grape, grown in the rolling hills of Abruzzo between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic Sea. The wine is produced by Rocco Pasetti at Contesa (meaning "quarrel" in Italian), an estate with roots going back to 1903, now farmed without herbicides or pesticides on clay soils at 250 meters above sea level.
The wine is fermented and aged in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to preserve its fresh, aromatic character. On the nose it offers floral notes of hawthorn and orange blossom alongside green apple and lemon rind. The palate is soft, fresh, and well-balanced, with mineral, citrus, and stone-fruit notes and a lively acidity. It carries 13% alcohol by volume and contains sulfites.
This versatile white pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish risotto, pasta vongole, fresh salads, and herb-roasted chicken. Sold as a case of 12 bottles (750ml each).
