Domaine du Clos des Poulettes Les Vaucrains 1er Cru Nuits-Saint-Georges is a prestigious red Burgundy from the celebrated Les Vaucrains Premier Cru vineyard in the Côte de Nuits, one of the most revered wine-producing appellations in the world. Crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, this 750ML bottle represents the finest expression of this family estate's terroir in the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation.
Domaine du Clos des Poulettes is a family-run estate located in Corgoloin, Burgundy, with over seven generations of winemaking tradition passed down from mother to daughter. The 16-hectare domaine spans the villages of Corgoloin, Nuits-Saint-Georges (over 3 hectares), and Vosne-Romanée, with all farming, vinification, and bottling done on-site. The estate takes its name from its flagship walled vineyard, "Le Clos des Poulettes," enclosed on three sides and recognized as one of the Côte de Nuits' most distinguished premier cru parcels. The domaine has earned consistent recognition including Tastevinage, Burgondia d'Or, and multiple Guide Hachette des Vins stars.
Les Vaucrains is one of the most powerful and structured premier cru vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges, producing wines of notable depth and aging potential. The wine displays a brilliant cherry-red color and aromas of griotte cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant, grey pepper, and cassis in youth, evolving with age toward leather, truffle, game, and macerated fruits. On the palate it is muscular and full-bodied with firm, well-integrated tannins, lively spice, raspberry, and a hint of chocolate on the finish. Best enjoyed after several years of cellaring, which allows its structure to round out and its characteristic sensuality to emerge. Pairs excellently with roast lamb, rib steak, breast of fattened duck, and rich soft-rind cheeses such as Époisses or Langres.
