Garage Wine Co. Cabernet Sauvignon Renacido Vineyard is a premium Chilean red wine produced by Derek Mossman, Pilar Miranda, and Dr. Alvaro Peña in the Maule Valley region of Chile. The wine is sourced from the eastern-facing Renacido Vineyard in the Coastal Range near Cauquenes, where 150+-year-old bush-head trained Cabernet Sauvignon vines — originally grafted onto ancient País roots roughly a decade ago — grow in mostly silty and sandy granitic soils that have been farmed organically by hand and horse for over 75 years. A small field blend of Malbec vines is interspersed throughout the vineyard.

The grapes are hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts in open-top lagars without any chemical additions. A small portion undergoes whole-cluster fermentation with gentle foot-treading. Caps are punched down by hand, pressed in a traditional small basket press, and the wine is aged over two winters in neutral barrels. Production is extremely limited at roughly 7,000–9,000 bottles per vintage, bottled in partnership with a recycling company using salvaged wine bottles as part of the producer's sustainability ethos. The 2020 vintage (Lot #114) carries 13.4% alcohol and an impressive pH of 3.3 with 6.23 grams of acidity.

This wine has received outstanding critical acclaim, earning 95 points from James Suckling, 95 points from Vinous, and 95 points from Wine Advocate for the 2020 vintage. Tasting notes describe vivid blue fruit, red-currant brightness, boldo, graphite, and garrigue aromas, with a juicy full-bodied palate of excellent fruit purity, creamy integrated tannins, and bright natural acidity reflecting the granite-rich soils. Derek Mossman is also the founder of M.O.V.I. (Movimiento de Viñateros Independientes), Chile's growing association of independent vintners.
