Domaine du Grand Tinel is a prestigious producer from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in the Southern Rhône Valley of France. The domaine's roots trace back to families with ties to the region dating to the 14th century, and it has been producing wines under its current identity since the 1970s.
This red wine displays a brilliant ruby-red color with aromas of ripe red berries, garrigue, dried flowers, and a hint of white pepper as it opens. On the palate, it offers sweet, spice-tinged raspberry and floral pastille flavors with a jolt of tangy acidity providing lift and spine. The finish is long and supple with smooth tannins and lingering florality. The wine is produced from all destemmed fruit, fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in a combination of foudres, demi-muids, and barriques — a classic Southern Rhône approach that balances freshness with complexity.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of France's most celebrated appellations, producing powerful, age-worthy red wines primarily from Grenache along with permitted blending varieties such as Syrah, Mourvèdre, and others. Wines from this appellation are known for their depth, warmth, and earthy Mediterranean character.
