Valravn Zinfandel Sonoma County is a bold, expressive red wine crafted from old, bush-pruned Zinfandel vines averaging 40 years old — with some exceeding a century — sourced from Sonoma County's premier appellations including Dry Creek Valley and Russian River AVA. Petite Sirah and Grenache are co-fermented with the Zinfandel to add depth and complexity.
Grapes are hand-harvested and hand-sorted, then gently destemmed before a cold soak to capture the wine's vibrant, juicy fruit profile. Primary fermentation is followed by ten months of aging in French oak barrels ranging from first-use to completely neutral, resulting in a wine that is rich yet balanced. The 2022 vintage earned 92 points from Wine Enthusiast and 91 points from James Suckling.
The wine is juicy and exuberant on the palate, bursting with black fruits, raspberry liqueur, and spiced rhubarb, with additional notes of Mexican chocolate, licorice, sweet spice, and tobacco. Sold in a case of 12 bottles at 750ml each.
