Monfleurie L'Orchidée is an ultra-rare Grande Champagne Cognac from France, presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter manufactured by Cristalleries de Saint Louis — the legendary Hermès-owned crystal factory near Strasbourg, France, with over 400 years of heritage. The decanter features 24-carat gold applied details, an individually engraved number, and is nestled inside a piano-lacquered, hand-made presentation box. The cap is sculptured with fine jewelry crafting techniques to feature the orchid motif.
The precious liquid at the core of this edition originates from a 1960 Grande Champagne vintage. Over six decades of aging, it developed a rich, complex floral character. Master blender Jean-Marc Olivier combined this vintage with a carefully selected array of old eaux-de-vie from the Maison Boinaud reserves. Only two barrels were laid down for this premiere release, making it one of the rarest spirits available, with just 40 bottles per year imported to the United States.
On the palate, L'Orchidée opens with welcoming notes of iris, violets, and vanilla. A warm wave follows, reminiscent of orange confit and crème brûlée, with complexity deepening into hints of cinnamon, baking spices, and sandalwood. The finish is long and enchanting, enduring well after the final sip.
