The 2XO Kiawah Blend is the fourth release in the Icon Series, a collection of limited-time, small-batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys crafted by renowned blender Dixon Dedman. Inspired by Kiawah Island — Dedman's personal retreat for relaxation and recharging with family and friends — this bourbon reflects his philosophy of blending different ages, mashbills, and barrels to achieve a specific flavor profile unavailable from any single barrel.
The Kiawah Blend presents a viscous, rich mouthfeel that moves from initial sweetness on the front of the palate through savory notes on the mid-palate, finishing with a lingering peppery spice. On the nose it offers cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cedarwood. The palate brings vanilla, oak, clove, and a touch of lemon, while the finish is defined by warming peppery spice. It was released in April 2024 and ranked #14 on Whisky Advocate's Top 20 Whiskies of the year.
