Albert Bichot Bourgogne "Origines" Pinot Noir is a classic Burgundy red wine from the Bourgogne AOC Régionale appellation in France, crafted entirely from Pinot Noir grapes grown across a mosaic of calcareous clay soil plots with varying exposure and altitude. The diversity of these terroirs, combined with careful vinification and aging, allows the Pinot Noir grape to produce an aromatic, fleshy, and refined wine.
The grapes are handpicked and fermented in thermo-regulated conical oak vats and stainless steel tanks over 18 to 20 days. The wine is then aged for 10 to 12 months, with 20% in oak barrels and 80% in vats, preserving its fresh fruit character while adding subtle structure. The result is a wine with a fresh, fine nose featuring notes of black and red fruit — raspberry and blackcurrant — followed by a fleshy, supple palate with excellent balance and a pleasing fruity finish.
Best served at 14–15°C (57–59°F), this wine pairs well with roasted or braised red and white meats and medium-aged cheeses. It can be enjoyed young for its fruit-forward character or cellared for 3 to 4 years. The wine has received consistent recognition from Wine Spectator, earning scores ranging from 87 to 90 points across multiple vintages, and Albert Bichot was named Best Red Winemaker of the Year by the International Wine Challenge in 2017.
