Elephant Hill Le Phant Rouge is a proprietary estate red blend from Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, crafted from grapes grown in the warm, inland soils of Bridge Pa Triangle and Gimblett Gravels. The 2023 vintage is composed of 44% Merlot, 42% Syrah, 13% Malbec, and 1% Tempranillo, delivering a juice-forward, approachable style with plummy Merlot and spicy Syrah as the dominant flavor profiles.

The winemaking approach splits the blend between 60% tank-aging and 40% aging in older, well-seasoned French oak, with the barrel-matured portion resting on its lees for 17 months. This technique preserves bright fruit intensity while adding textural depth and subtle complexity. Expect notes of blackberry, cassis, and plum with a succulent texture and a clean, lingering finish.
