The Calling Patriarch Pinot Noir is the flagship wine of The Calling portfolio — a complex, balanced, and full-bodied Pinot Noir sourced from the renowned Putnam Vineyard on California's Sonoma Coast. This 3-liter format offers an exceptional value on a critically acclaimed bottling that has earned 94 points from Wine Enthusiast. The Putnam Vineyard benefits from strong coastal influence, mineral-rich Goldridge soil, and towering redwoods, providing ideal growing conditions for expressive Pinot Noir. The Putnam family has stewarded this remote and idyllic parcel of land since 1977.

Winemaker James MacPhail hand-harvested the grapes before a 120-day fermentation in French oak, with hand punch-downs three times daily to maximize flavor extraction. The wine was then aged 15 months in 100% French oak barrels (40% new), yielding a wine of remarkable depth and refinement. The Calling wines were created by Jim Nantz, the celebrated CBS sports broadcaster, in partnership with Peter Deutsch of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, and have earned more than fifty 90+ ratings since the inaugural 2012 vintage.

The wine opens with aromas of wild strawberry, cherry tart, orange peel, red raspberry, and cardamom. On the palate, flavors of pomegranate, wild raspberry, cherry, saline, and wet soil emerge. Medium in weight with bright, focused acidity and smooth, rounded tannins, it delivers a classic expression of the West Sonoma Coast.
