Springbank 1998 Vintage is a rare and exceptional single malt Scotch whisky from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2025 after nearly 27 years of maturation, this is the inaugural release in Springbank's new Vintage Series, succeeding the classic 25 Year Old expression. Only 1,500 bottles were released worldwide, making this an ultra-limited collectible. The whisky was matured in a combination of two refill and two first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, then bottled at 48.3% ABV (96.6 proof) without chill filtration in keeping with Springbank's traditional approach.

On the nose, expect ripe dates, blackberries, stewed stone fruits, white chocolate, caramel, coastal salinity, damp oak, and malted barley. The palate delivers cinder toffee, balsamic glaze, cherry syrup, ginger loaf, creamy vanilla, shortbread, brandy butter, cloves, and earthy herbal tones. The finish is long and savory with wet soil, sea salt, roasted nuts, lemon peel, black pepper, leather, salted caramel, nutmeg, crystallized ginger, and coffee. The overall impression is polished and charismatic — reminiscent of a vintage library with leather armchairs, butter cookies, prune and date cake, and caramel-drizzled ripe peaches.
