Dr. H. Thanisch Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett is a classic German white wine from the prestigious Mosel region, produced by the historic Thanisch estate (Erben Müller-Burggraef). The estate encompasses over 12 hectares of prime vineyard sites in the middle Mosel valley, where black and blue slate dominates the steep Bernkastel hillside sloping down to the Mosel river. The Bernkasteler Badstube designation encompasses six of the finest vineyard parcels in Bernkastel, including the renowned Doctor, Graben, Lay, and Bratenhöfchen sites.

This 100% Riesling Kabinett is made entirely without chaptalization, with ripe and healthy grapes fermented naturally. It displays a pronounced bouquet of very ripe red and yellow fruits with exotic and slightly spicy notes, well-integrated acidity, and the flinty, slatey minerality so characteristic of great Mosel wines. With only 9% alcohol by volume, this is a light, elegant wine with a lively and refreshing character and an extraordinary potential for aging over many years. The 2021 vintage earned 92 points from James Suckling for its expressive stony slate character, effusive floral and lemon-zest aromas, and long, clean wet-stone finish.
