Tapiz Selección de Barricas is a premium red blend from Bodega Tapiz, sourced from the San Pablo vineyard in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina, situated approximately 1,350 meters above sea level. The name "Selección de Barricas" — meaning "barrel selection" — reflects the winemaking philosophy of hand-selecting the finest barrels after 14 months of oak aging.
The wine is a complex Bordeaux-style blend typically composed of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. It displays an intense ruby-red color with violet hues and aromas of fresh red fruits, blackberries, cassis, and dried plums, layered with notes of vanilla, coffee, and chocolate from barrel aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied with silky, well-integrated tannins, bright acidity characteristic of high-altitude mountain vineyards, and a long, balanced finish with toasted oak nuances. It pairs well with grilled meats, lamb, aged cheeses, and hearty stews.
