Joseph Drouhin Pouilly-Vinzelles is a white Burgundy wine from the Mâconnais region of southern France, crafted entirely from Chardonnay grapes. The appellation of Pouilly-Vinzelles sits just south of the more famous Pouilly-Fuissé, with vineyards positioned on steep east-facing slopes at an altitude of 250 meters, planted in clay and limestone soils rich in iron oxide. This wine has been known since Roman times, when the area was called "Vincella."
The wine presents a pale yellow color with bright green reflections. On the nose, it offers intense and persistent aromas of peach and white flowers harmoniously woven together. The palate is ample, fresh, and intense, with notes of ripe grapes, almond, fresh hazelnut, and cinnamon, revealing an elegant structure. This bottling comes from grapes harvested by hand or machine, pressed with a pneumatic press and fermented two-thirds in stainless steel vats and one-third in 500-litre oak barrels, then aged 6 to 10 months.
Optimal for consumption within 2 to 4 years, with an aging potential up to 5 years. Best served at 12–13°C (53–54°F). Sold as a case of 12 bottles (750ml each).
