Curto Arborina Barolo DOCG is a flagship red wine from Nadia Curto's small four-hectare estate in La Morra, one of the most esteemed villages within the Barolo DOCG appellation in Piedmont, Italy. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in 1.5 hectares of marneous clay soils at 270-300 meters elevation, this wine exemplifies Nadia's layered, neo-classical winemaking style โ intentionally bold and fruit-forward while retaining the serious structure and complexity that defines great Barolo.
Nadia Curto, a second-generation producer and niece of legendary Piedmontese winemaker Elio Altare, bridges classical and contemporary techniques. The wine undergoes short rotary fermentation to soften tannins and showcase fruit character, and is bottled unclarified and unfiltered following thermo-shock technology rather than traditional filtering. Organic, non-certified farming practices are used throughout the estate.
The wine presents a bright garnet red color with a nose of dark fruit and earthy spice, with hints of rose petal, cocoa, balsamic, and truffle. On the palate it is full-bodied yet smooth with fine tannins and a long, rewarding finish. Approximately 5,000 bottles are produced annually, and the wine receives 12 months of bottle maturation before release. Alcohol content is 15.5% with 5.8 g/L acidity. Sold in cases of 6 x 750ml.
