Domaine du Grand Tinel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is a prestigious white wine from one of the Southern Rhône Valley's most storied estates, whose history dates to the late 1700s. The domaine has been a pioneer in the appellation, becoming one of the first Châteauneuf-du-Pape producers to bottle their own wine in 1906, and today farms 56 hectares of vines across diverse soils including sand, rock, limestone, pebbles, and clay.
The Blanc is crafted from a blend of 60% Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette, and 20% Bourboulenc, drawn from 3 hectares of dedicated white-variety vineyards. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats with a small portion aged in new French oak barrels, preserving the wine's aromatic freshness while adding subtle texture. The result is a full-bodied, expressive white with aromas of white peach, pomelo, orange blossom, and citrus, leading to a round, ripe, and fleshy palate with fresh acidity and a mineral-driven finish.
Critically acclaimed across vintages, the wine has earned scores of 92 points and higher from leading critics. The 2018 vintage was awarded 97 points and Platinum at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2021, ranking as the highest-scoring French white wine in that competition among more than 800 entries. Best enjoyed within 5 to 7 years of the vintage, this wine pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, crab, lobster, roasted chicken, pork, veal, and Asian cuisine. Serve slightly chilled at around 60°F (15.5°C) for optimal freshness and lift. Sold in a case of 12 bottles (750ml each).
