Talisker 44 Year Old "Forests of the Deep" is an exceptionally rare single malt Scotch whisky from the Talisker Distillery on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. One of the oldest expressions ever released by the distillery, only 1,997 bottles were produced worldwide, making it highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill on the shores of Loch Harport, Talisker draws soft water from one of 14 underground springs beneath Hawk Hill — the same source used for nearly two centuries. The malted barley is lightly peated to approximately 18 phenol parts per million, giving this whisky its signature maritime character. This expression underwent a distinctive finishing process in seaweed-charred casks, imparting an extraordinary depth and connection to the distillery's rugged coastal surroundings.

The nose is mellow, slowly revealing rich salt and pepper undertones followed by seaweed, smoked wood, and toffee. On the palate it delivers a balance of savory and sweet characteristics, with a soft, lingering finish described as a crashing wave of complex flavors. Bottled at 49.1% ABV (98.2 proof) in a 700ml bottle.
