The wine is crafted primarily from Sangiovese (approximately 95%) with a small portion of Colorino, delivering a classic expression of this historic Tuscan appellation.

Villa Cerna has deep roots in Chianti Classico, with its villa originally an 11th-century monastery. Luigi Cecchi acquired the property in 1962 and the Cecchi family has since restored the estate and built a modern winemaking facility on the grounds. This wine carries the prestigious Chianti Classico DOCG designation, which denotes origin from a strict 100-square-mile subregion known for producing some of Tuscany's finest wines.

The Primocolle expression offers medium-plus body with ripe berry aromas, pepper, and earthy undertones.
