Château de Vaudieu Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is a classic red wine from one of the oldest and most prestigious estates in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of France's Southern Rhône Valley. The estate, whose elegant château dates to 1767, farms 70 hectares of vines and produces this flagship red as a Grenache-led blend — typically around 80% old-vine Grenache with the remainder Syrah and Mourvèdre.
In the glass, the wine pours a medium ruby with vibrant dark and red fruit character. Expect aromas and flavors of black cherry, raspberry, kirsch, and garrigue, layered with notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, pepper, and spice. The palate is rounded and full-bodied with silky texture and a long, spice-laced finish. Recent vintages have earned scores of 93–94 points from Wine Spectator and Jeb Dunnuck.
This wine is best served slightly cool, around 60°F (15.5°C), which enhances its freshness and aromatic lift. It can be enjoyed now but rewards 3–6 years of additional cellaring, with top vintages drinking well up to 20 years from harvest. Sold in a case of 6 × 750ML bottles.
