Monchiero Castiglione Falletto is a Barolo DOCG wine from the renowned Castiglione Falletto commune in Piedmont (Piemonte), Italy, produced by Azienda Agricola Monchiero. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, this wine expresses the classic character of one of Italy's most prestigious appellations.
The Monchiero estate is situated in Castiglione Falletto, one of the eleven communes permitted to produce Barolo. The winery is among only a handful of producers with holdings in the celebrated Rocche di Castiglione vineyard. Barolo is known as the "King of Italian Wines," and wines from Castiglione Falletto are prized for their elegant structure, aromatic complexity, and aging potential.
This 750ML bottle offers flavors typical of Barolo: red cherry, rose petal, tar, and earth, with firm yet refined tannins and a long, mineral finish. Barolo wines require a minimum of 38 months aging (including at least 18 months in oak) before release, developing layers of complexity over time. This wine pairs excellently with braised meats, aged cheeses, truffles, and hearty pasta dishes.
