Kerr Cellars Chardonnay Rued Vineyard Sonoma Coast is a single-vineyard white wine from one of California's most acclaimed Chardonnay sites. The Rued Vineyard sits in the Russian River Valley appellation within the Sonoma Coast, just five miles from the Pacific Ocean, where cool marine breezes and fog create ideal conditions for growing elegant, complex Chardonnay.
Crafted by Helen Keplinger, named Winemaker of the Year 2023 by Vinous Media, this Chardonnay showcases the terroir-driven character that has made Kerr Cellars a celebrated boutique producer. The wine is aged for 16 months in 35% new French oak, which contributes richness and texture while preserving the vineyard's natural acidity and freshness. On the nose, the wine offers chamomile, quince, crushed white rocks, pastry flour, and delicate pear. The palate is full and weighty yet vibrant, with flavors of quince, Jordan almond, chamomile, and a hint of lemon zest, balanced by lovely texture and bright acidity. The wine is suitable for near-term enjoyment or additional cellaring.
Kerr Cellars was founded by LPGA golf champion and sommelier Cristie Kerr, who has built a portfolio of boutique Napa Valley and Sonoma County wines that have received wide critical acclaim, including coverage in Wine Spectator. This Chardonnay retails around $69 per bottle and is sold by the case of six (6 x 750ml) through Costco.
