Joseph Drouhin Beaune Premier Cru "Aux Cras" is a Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy's most storied appellations, produced by Maison Joseph Drouhin, a family-owned négociant and domaine founded in Beaune in 1880. The "Cras" vineyard takes its name from the medieval term "crai," describing its stony, limestone-rich soil. Located northwest of Beaune on the upper hillside and facing east/south-east, the site has been prized since Roman times for its exceptional vine-growing conditions.

The wine displays a beautiful ruby red color with aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry complemented by notes of vanilla. With age, the nose evolves to reveal leather, truffle, and spice. On the palate, refined tannins create a seductive harmony, finishing with delicate touches of oak. Grapes are harvested by hand, fully destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in small open vats over two to three weeks. Aging takes place in French oak barrels — 20 to 25% new — for 14 to 16 months.

This wine is best served at 16°C (61°F) and has an optimal drinking window of 8 to 15 years, with an aging potential of up to 20 years. Sold as a case of six 750ML bottles.
