Podere La Berta Sangiovese Superiore is a red wine from the Romagna region of Emilia-Romagna, Italy, crafted by a winery that has become synonymous with quality in Romagna wine production. The Poggiali family acquired Podere La Berta in 2009, and the estate is located in the hills of Brisighella, where sustainable viticulture practices and traditional winemaking methods are prioritized.

The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes cultivated in the fertile lands of Romagna. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with skin maceration, followed by aging in a combination of steel containers and oak barriques for 6 to 12 months. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red color. The nose offers aromas of ripe red and black fruits — cherry, plum, and wild berries — with notes of spice, herbal hints, earthy minerals, and a touch of vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with lively acidity, soft tannins, and a rich, lingering finish with cocoa and fine tannin. Alcohol is 13% by volume.

This Sangiovese Superiore pairs well with Romagna cuisine, grilled and roasted red meats, pasta with meat sauces, and medium-aged to aged cheeses. It is best served at 16–18°C and can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 5 years.
