Famille Natter Sancerre is a French white wine from the Loire Valley's prestigious Sancerre appellation, produced from Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the family's estate in Montigny. Henry and enologist Cecile Natter founded their domaine in 1974, establishing the only winemaking estate in Montigny — a terroir celebrated for its terres blanches, or Kimmeridgian Marls. This distinctive chalk-rich soil imparts great power to the wines and a remarkable capacity for age-worthy development without oxidation.
The wine opens with enchanting aromas reminiscent of flowers, cassis, and citrus fruits. On the palate it is straight and precise, yet always balanced and supple, with a long finish full of ripe Sauvignon Blanc character. The grapes are harvested at ideal ripeness to preserve the wine's vibrant freshness and mineral depth. Stored properly, top vintages retain extraordinary freshness over decades while evolving toward their elemental, mineral base.
