Domaine Jean-Michel Guillon & Fils La Petite Chapelle is a Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru from the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, France, crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Jean-Michel Guillon founded his domaine in 1980 with just over 5 acres after apprenticing under the legendary Henri Jayer, and has since grown the estate to encompass over 37 acres across more than 20 appellations.
La Petite Chapelle is one of Gevrey-Chambertin's esteemed Premier Cru vineyard sites. The domaine employs meticulous viticultural practices including manual leaf stripping, green harvesting, and double sorting. The wine is aged 13 months in 100% new oak barrels, reflecting a commitment to structure and longevity. Jean-Michel Guillon was named Winemaker of the Year by the Hachette Wine Guide, and the estate's wines regularly earn high scores from Burghound.
The wine presents a carmine-red hue with ruby reflections. Aromas of red currant, cool cherry, and floral notes are complemented by spicy undertones. On the palate it is medium-bodied with dense yet refined tannins, finishing long, firm, and balanced. Typical of this producer, it is built to age well and commands strong critical acclaim.
