Marco Bonfante Barolo is a DOCG-designated red wine from the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, produced in the Langhe hills of the Cuneo province. Barolo is one of Italy's most prestigious appellations, often called the "King of Wines," crafted exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape variety.
This 750ml bottle delivers the classic characteristics of Barolo: a deep garnet color with brick-orange hints, aromas of dried roses, tar, leather, and dark cherry, with a palate of ripe red fruits, licorice, tobacco, and earthy minerality. The wine is structured with firm tannins and notable acidity, making it an excellent candidate for aging. Marco Bonfante is a respected Piedmontese producer known for crafting approachable yet authentic expressions of traditional Piedmont varietals at accessible price points.
Barolo DOCG requires a minimum of 38 months aging (62 months for Riserva), with at least 18 months in oak barrels. This wine pairs beautifully with braised meats, roasted lamb, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes such as tagliatelle with wild boar ragu.
