Delas Crozes-Hermitage Les Launes Rouge France 750ml

Delas Frères Les Launes is a 100% Syrah red wine from the Crozes-Hermitage appellation in the northern Rhône Valley of France. Crozes-Hermitage is the largest appellation in the northern Rhône, spanning nearly 2,100 acres, and this wine is sourced primarily from the Chassis area in the northernmost section. Grapes come from family growers Delas has partnered with for over 100 years, grown on varied soils ranging from granite in the north to fluvioglacial alluviums and rolled river stones mixed with loess in the south.

Hand-picked grapes are fully destemmed and fermented in open concrete tanks at controlled temperatures between 82–90°F. After devatting and pressing, malolactic fermentation takes place in tank. The wine is aged in a combination of French oak barriques (20%) and stainless steel (80%) to preserve vibrant fruit aromas, with regular racking for natural stabilization.

The wine displays a deep garnet red color with strong aromas of cassis, plum, and a touch of violet. The palate offers an ample, well-rounded tannic structure with good aging potential. It pairs beautifully with game, grilled meats, and rich sauces. Alcohol: 12.5%. Awarded 91 points by both Wine Spectator and James Suckling.
