Banfi Belnero is a Toscana IGT red wine produced by Castello Banfi in Montalcino, Tuscany. This Supertuscan blend is composed predominantly of Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, reflecting both the Montalcinese tradition and the international varieties that have found a natural home in the region.
The wine is aged 12 to 14 months in 350-liter French oak barriques and 60 and 90 hectoliter barrels, followed by additional bottle aging. It presents a deep, elegant red color with intense aromas of plum and blackberry jam accompanied by hints of vanilla, coffee, and tobacco. The palate is powerful and soft with sweet, well-balanced tannins and a long, persistent finish. Alcohol content is 14.5% by volume.
Best served between 18 and 20°C, Belnero pairs well with soups, grilled red and white meats, and medium-aged cheeses. Contains sulfites.
