Kirkland Signature Fresh Wild Ahi Tuna is sourced from wild-caught yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) and sold by the pound from the Costco seafood counter. Yellowfin ahi tuna is prized for its deep red, firm flesh, mild flavor, and versatility across a wide range of preparations.

The fish is suitable for searing, grilling, baking, or serving raw as sashimi or sushi. Because yellowfin tuna is one of the species the FDA exempts from parasite-destruction freezing requirements for raw consumption, it is widely considered appropriate to serve rare or raw when handled and stored properly at refrigerator temperatures. Cuts are typically center-loin steaks or fillets, free of skin and bones.

Ahi tuna pairs well with sesame, soy, ginger, citrus, and avocado. For best results, refrigerate immediately and use within one to two days of purchase. Do not refreeze after thawing.
