Alma de Cattleya Rosé of Pinot Noir is a bright, crisp, and mouthwatering wine from Sonoma County, California, crafted by Colombian-born winemaker Bibiana González Rave. The name "Alma" means soul in Spanish, and Cattleya is Colombia's national flower — together they reflect the winemaker's passion and heritage expressed through California terroir.
The fruit is sourced from the cool hillsides of the Sonoma Coast. Grapes are handpicked at night and delivered to the winery at very low temperatures to preserve freshness. This rosé is a combination of saignée juice and hand-sorted Pinot Noir clusters that are pressed and carefully transferred to neutral barrels or stainless steel tanks for cold fermentation. The result is a crisp, savory rosé with intense and complex aromatics — notes of crushed strawberry, rose petal, citrus, fresh red berries, and nectarine, with a refreshing, youthful acidity on the finish.
This wine pairs beautifully with soft-ripened cheeses like Camembert and Brie, light salads, raw shellfish, ceviche, sushi, seared salmon or tuna, and grilled chicken dishes. It has been praised by Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck, and Vinous as distinctive, refreshing, and hitting well above its price point.
