Caiarossa is a prestigious Tuscan red blend produced in the Val di Cecina, on the Tuscan Coast of Italy. The estate practices biodynamic agriculture and organic oenology, working in harmony with the natural rhythms of the earth and the surrounding Macchia Mediterranea. The wine is crafted from multiple grape varieties grown in distinct parcels, each vinified separately in concrete and wooden tanks using slow fermentation and soft extraction techniques.
The blend typically consists of Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, and Grenache — proportions that shift with each vintage to best reflect the character of the year. All harvesting is done entirely by hand, and the wine is aged approximately 14 months in French oak barriques after malolactic fermentation. The result is a wine of deep elegance, velvety tannins, and remarkable balance, achieving consistent acclaim from international critics including scores of 95–97 points from James Suckling, Decanter, Wine Spectator, and Falstaff. Each case contains 6 bottles of 750ml. Alcohol content is approximately 14–14.5%.
