Château Malescot St. Exupéry is a Third Growth (Troisième Grand Cru Classé) Bordeaux red wine from the prestigious Margaux appellation in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, France. This 3-liter double-magnum format offers an ideal size for cellaring or special occasions. The château's 30-hectare estate is planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot on gravel, chalk, and clay soils with iron deposits on gentle slopes.
Winemaking is overseen with consulting from Michel Rolland. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled concrete vats and stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in 80–100% new French oak barrels for 14 to 16 months. The result is a structured, elegant wine that exemplifies the finesse of Margaux, blending power with refinement and featuring velvety tannins.
Recent vintages display aromas of dark fruits, cassis, black raspberries, violets, and hints of tobacco, cedar, dark chocolate, and espresso. The palate is concentrated and well-structured with a long, refined finish. Optimal drinking typically begins after 10 to 12 years of age, with peak maturity extending 12 to 30 years post-vintage.
