Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild is the prestigious second wine of Château Mouton Rothschild, one of Bordeaux's celebrated First Growth estates in the Pauillac appellation. The 2019 vintage is a blend of approximately 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Merlot, crafted from selected younger vines within the illustrious Mouton Rothschild vineyard.
Grapes are harvested by hand in small open baskets, fermented in traditional Mouton oak vats, and matured in French oak barrels with the same scrupulous attention to detail as the flagship wine. The result is a wine that expresses the elegance and richness characteristic of a great Pauillac. The 2019 vintage is highly regarded by critics, earning scores in the 93-97 point range, with tasting notes of crème de cassis, black fruit, raspberry, cedar pencil, green tobacco, white pepper, and a touch of minerality — tasting like a miniature Mouton Rothschild. This Costco offering is sold as a case of 6 bottles (750ML each).
