Madame de Beaucaillou is a Bordeaux red blend from the prestigious Haut-Médoc appellation, produced by the renowned Château Ducru-Beaucaillou estate. This cuvée is a tribute to Madame Eugène-Borie and debuted with the 2019 vintage, marking the 300th harvest at the estate. It is crafted as an introduction to the Borie family's winemaking signature and philosophy.
The blend is composed of 66% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 11% Petit Verdot. Vinified in the Ducru-Beaucaillou cellars, the wine is aged for 12 months in barrel with 20% new oak. It presents a deep violet color with aromas of ripe cherries, plums, irises, and woodsmoke. On the palate, it offers rich fruit with good mid-palate density, perfectly ripe tannins with a fine powdery texture, and vibrant freshness. The finish is fresh, fruity, and persistent with hints of spice. Various vintages have received scores in the 90–93 point range from critics including Wine Enthusiast and Wine Advocate.
