Donatella Cinelli Colombini Rosso di Montalcino is a celebrated Italian red wine from the Montalcino appellation in Tuscany, crafted by one of Italy's most renowned female winemakers and her all-woman winemaking team at Casato Prime Donne estate. This 750 mL bottle is sold in a case of 12.
The wine is made primarily from Sangiovese grapes grown in the heart of Brunello di Montalcino country, using certified organic farming practices on soils carefully selected to yield expressive early flavor and appealing structure. Rosso di Montalcino is considered the "younger sibling" of Brunello di Montalcino — more approachable in its youth while still displaying the hallmark characteristics of the prestigious region.
Tasting notes reveal aromas of cherries, pomegranate, violets, and bergamot, with an almost silky palate offering ripe red fruit, spice, flint, and floral notes. The wine features medium body, fine tannins, refreshing acidity, and a clean, elegant finish. Recent vintages have earned scores in the 88–91 point range from critics including James Suckling and Wine Enthusiast. Best enjoyed now through the late 2020s.
