Château de la Grille is a prestigious estate located in the heart of the Chinon appellation in the Loire Valley, France. This red wine is crafted from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, the signature variety of the Chinon AOC, grown on the estate's renowned terroir of clay and tuffeau limestone soils.
The wine is known for its distinctive, elegant bottle — a replica of 18th-century Champagne bottles — and its expressive, terroir-driven character. On the nose, it offers aromas of fresh red fruit (raspberry, cherry), violet, and subtle earthy, herbal notes typical of Loire Cabernet Franc. The palate is supple and well-structured with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, fresh finish with hints of spice and minerality.
Château de la Grille Chinon Rouge pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, lamb, charcuterie, and Loire Valley chèvre cheeses. It can be enjoyed young or cellared for 5–10 years to develop additional complexity.
